There goes Kennedy......"The liar of the Senate"

Ted Kennedy has died of brain cancer. Much like my father who passed away with small cell brain cancer in November 2008. I will miss Dad for the rest of my life. Kennedy's death, while a sad moment for his family, and my sympathies to them, will be good for America.
This guy sucked off the system for 48 years! He took no responsibility for the death of another human being! He was NOT JFK! This guy.... he is finally gone, and all I really want to say is good riddance! Looks like Rush was right, get ready for the repackaged "Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care Bill". I wonder how Nancy Pelosi is feeling?

Obama is going down......

Maybe I failed to mention that I am a FORMER straight ticket republican. Looks like I will be declaring myself as an independent Conservative, with some liberal thoughts. Bush disappointed me, I knew McCain did not have a prayer. To nice a guy. I can't wait until 2010, and 2012.

If you are a democrat.... listen closely, shhhh, can you hear me laughing at you and your affiliation? Obama is doing one thing right, and that is bringing a slow embarrassing death to the the party. It is not funny though, because America still suffers. Let me give you the best example of viewing Democratic politics and policies at work, and I will not even mention the "Cash for clunkers program". Let us look to the state of California. I know the Governor is a republican, but Arnie, what the hell? Some success story huh, how about fiscal responsibility. Want a great laugh? Say Nancy Pelosi three times and try to keep a straight face. What say you? Well we know that at last count, ABC news reported that 57% of Americans DO NOT want the Obama health care overhaul. He's already back tracking. Sooooo if he wants to go boom or bust with this issue, the writing is simply on the wall. The Clinton's couldn't do it and neither will Obama. And hey tell me this, why is it that you Dem's have all of these harsh statements for people who oppose Obama in any form. It was fair to attack Bush , there were no "off limit" areas. Have the rules changed? David Letterman showed his class with the statements about Palin's daughter. Your the joke Dave, maybe your feeling cocky since Jay left the "Tonight Show", and you actually won a ratings period. Way to go, way to take charge.

Face it, our supposed "watchdog", the news media have no ballz, and their collective heads are up their ass as well. Network or "Prime Time" news is a joke, look at Dan Rather, still trying to beat a dead dog with another lawsuit over his re-assignment, get over it Dan, ever heard of a fact checker? Sad to say we're from the same state, and I suppose your ego finally caught up with you. Not going to name any "anchors", and that title, how aprapoe. these shows are sinking. The grand old dame the "Newspaper" is becoming a dinosaur overnight, I can't wait to see the Times fold, I will celebrate with a cold one. I will miss the entertainment I get from "The Houston Chronicle", but the net is king. Every little thing anyone could ever need or even imagine, the world and universe is only a click away!

People keep telling me that the world wasn't always like this. People didn't do "as"horrible things as they do now, the world was more innocent. Now the entire world has gone bad. No Virgina, it's not the world, it's the people, and they have always been bad. Now, they just can't hide!

The New Racists...

OK, so I am a middle aged white male living in the south. I remember growing up in East Texas when there where "colored" water fountains, and places people of "color" where not allowed. At the time it seemed that every black person I encountered called me sir or mister, at the ripe old age of 7. I remember all of the assassinations that seemingly define my generation. I remember the integration issues of busing, the marches and the riots. I have seen much injustice.
What I would like to know is why has the pendulum swung so far in the opposite direction. Why was O.J. Simpson found innocent in his murder trial? Why was President Obama elected? Why was Judge Sotomayor appointed? It has to be partly because of the past, but where are we headed. Do we just throw qualifications out the window. Do we just drop standards, so that we can have racial parity? I'm sure you've heard of the NAACP, or LULAC, yes, you know where I am headed.
I live in Houston, one of the most culturally and racially diverse city's in the world. I am happy here and have no intention of leaving. I could care less what your skin color is or where your from or what your religeous convictions or political affiliations are. What I do want is ONE set of rules. Easy enough huh? No, not quite. How do we fix this sorry mess that we're in? I'm not talking about "pointing fingers", because we can look at our government and see that doesn't work.
We all need to face the ugly truth, and that is, that being "politically correct" is bad for America, no matter what color American you might be. The new racists are anyone and everyone whom is "politically correct". I am not going to rehash the arguments, that in my opinion have shown each of the above named to have at the very, very least, made racist statements. They have. So have I and so have you. The bigger question is, what then qualifies one as a racist? Can you make racist statements with out being a racist? What is the limit, where is the line? I don't know people.
I hope that in each of us, in our heart, we do know the difference between what is right and what is wrong. That not all of us will be Olympic medalists, brilliant scientists, or the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. It takes so much to achieve any of these positions, that we all cannot or will not be able to qualify. That is life. If you can't qualify because you cannot meet the standards, you do not drop the standards, the individual adjusts, not society. There are and I am quite sure, always will be, those that for some "hardship" possibly could have achieved much more. There are hard truths in life and for some reason alot of seem to have forgotten them. Hard absolute truth is that the truth some times hurts.
I hope that each of us can some how make a little bit of a difference in our lives and those of others around us. Of all the B.S. day in and day out, I challenge you to live it, with truth. We can make a difference. Kind of like, pay it forward, plant the seed and care for it. Truth and Honor, we can't live with out it!
